Who's Who at Hallett Canvas and Sails, Inc.

Richard Hallett

Richard has been in the marine business and sailing for his whole life and specifically in the sail making field for 17 years. From sanding bottoms to designing and building sails and canvas products, Richard has done it all on all kinds of boats from dinghies to Maxi yachts. Richard has won many regattas sailing with his sails, winning everything from the Turnabout Worlds to Bermuda Double-Handed, Halifax, Yarmouth Cup, Monhegan Race and Key West Race Week just to name a few. Family Wagon, Richard's latest boat design won Key West Race Week 2001 and place second in 2002. Richard sailed the boat both times with a Maine local crew including family members, customers and employees. Richard's sailing experience is not only confined to racing. He has cruised many miles along the east coast from Maine to the Virgin Islands on boats of all sizes and types. His most recent trip was from Maine to the Abaco Islands on a Pearson 53' Ketch, Sea Return.
